Un New Symbolist
In 2005, GRATALOUP was described as a "New Symbolist" by German critics, highlighting his unique role within the Symbolist movement. His works, blending mystical elements with evocative symbols, immerse the viewer in a world where reality and imagination merge, inviting a poetic exploration of the depths of the human soul.
Through his unique artistic language, GRATALOUP transcends traditional art to reveal hidden truths. Each painting is a gateway to a rich symbolic dimension, where the quest for meaning and spiritual exploration lie at the heart of the experience, encouraging the audience to explore the mysteries of life.
The Characters in GRATALOUP's Paintings
Through his use of colors and materials, such as sand and acrylic, GRATALOUP creates silhouettes that transcend reality, engaging in a visual dialogue with the viewer. These mysterious figures invite contemplation and an exploration of the mysteries of existence.
GRATALOUP's canvases are like a theater filled with symbolic characters, embodying universal archetypes. Each of these protagonists represents deep emotions or existential reflections, such as birth, life, and death.
In this sense, the Living Body exhibition celebrates, through its symbolism, all aspects of the body's existence.
